cubbington pear tree

Seems a shame.

Seems it was so obviously special and part of our common heritage and that it so obviously wouldn't ever be cut down, that it wasn't listed.

Then along came some bloke in a suit who said...

Ben Ruse, a spokesman for HS2, said younger trees would be planted in the area surrounding Cubbington to offset the loss of the historic pear tree.

How to miss the point by a county mile! way to go Ben!

Given the money spent on hs2 would be feasable to move the tree with one of those bits of kit they move fully grown palm trees with on californian golf courses?

Damn sure it could be moved if it was wanted to be moved

Not quite so happy days but we'll manage

I used to live and work in Leamington/Cubbington- when i left 6 years ago they were talking about it then- so glad to see its still standing but the future of it sounds bleak.

This is just 1 of many that will fall to the HS2 (who really wants that anyway!)

My sister lives in cubbington. I tried to look for the pear a few years ago but couldn't find it! Better try again before it's too late. Maybe get some cuttings
