Hi Chaps

I have bee looking round for a new split shaft strimmer, brushcutter. For years i have been putting up with bloody ryobi / homelite. Between us, me and my dad have 3 of these things and we are both ready to launch them.

Anyway, i was looking round a stihl dealership yesterday and came across the km56 power head. Are these any good ? i know the attachments are at least another £100 odd, but if they are a good buy then i wont mind. I know there are more powerful units, but it will only be used for strimming around the allotments, and an odd occasion around the church yard.

So, are these any good, or whats the alternatives, for a similar price. It must be split shaft. I dont mind what manufacturer it is as long as it works.

Also as daft as it is, has anyone got good things to say about the mculloch strimmer.

Sorry for rambling.

H.

Just bought the new Stihl KM 94 RC, very light unit and powerful. (It's not a 4 mix). I only want it for the pole saw unit.

I've got two, to replace two stolen 90's. Ignoring the 4 mix entirely (never actually had a problem with my 90's) I much prefer it. Although the black top screw cover, one of them came with a bolt with a crushed thread so I just swap the covers over when using either one. Also paper filters with no pre filter system so it can get clogged quicker.
