is it embarrassing to admit to having never changed a belt?! Although we did supplement one once for about 4 zip ties together to get us back from Fraser Island in Australia!

Does anything have to be loosened to change or just stretch over? More importantly can I knacker anything up by changing?!

Would imagine its a manual adjustment bracket on that, i’m not familiar with em to be honest. I’d tweak it slightly and apply some belt maintenance spray or silicon spray. Like all things rubber, time and age will take its toll and things will start to deteriorate, just like tyres, cambelts etc. For cost of a new belt i’d fit a new one anyway, piece of mind and all that.

Give it a bash, if you under tension the belt it’ll squeal, if you over tension then it’ll be quiet till alternator bearings pack in..... in which case you have a spare alternator off your donor motor [emoji12] and by then you’ll av learnt your mistake and you’ll get it right second time round [emoji106] every days a learning day.
