Black Tie?

After some advice.

I have to attend a business awards dinner this evening. Mrs Idiot is up for Best Environmentally Minded Business.

My issue is that the invite states 'Black Tie' dress code. I am unsure how to interpret this. I can certainly do the black but I don't have a tie. Thinking of taking the ceremonial broad sword to demonstrate that I mean business.

Do you think this will suffice?

Many thanks TVI.

Has you state award for ....Best Environmentally Minded Business then I would take a conservative approach to this has the room will be full of hypocrites that have gone the full length of the world to TART themselves up and leave a massive ecological foot print on the planet earth !!!

Ps ..i have been told by those lovely guys at Spectrum plant that you are a top bloke and a gentleman so don't worry too much .

You name came up in conversation because i was jealous that you got a sawbench to put you on while the new machine were being built lol

Mrs Idiot didn't win I'm afraid, she lost out to some marketing company:thumbdown:

On the plus side, my mongolian chieftain's black ceremonial battle uniform with thigh boots, Yak horned helmet and polished chrome codpiece still fits a treat, and I ended up having the whole table to myself.:thumbup1:

Thanks for all the advice but I think I would have felt a little self conscious in a black suit and tie.
