I'm told that these are a very good, light, comfortable boot.

I had some Dunlop Puroforts.... the rubber on the steel toe cap got spilt within a matter of weeks and then the side of one of them got slit open on a small blackthorn (or may have been Hawthorn).

This modern synthetic welly boot rubber is flexible and comfortable.... unfortunately it doesn't last 5 minutes!

That's my thoughts.

cheers, steve

Have you tried them Steve?

I've had the Dunlop Puroforts (steel toe cap version) and it looks like it's the same material (PU).... they are very comfortable and flexible but I think are only suitable for walking the dog and splashing about in muddy puddles.

I took my wellies in for a re-glue at our local shoe repair shop and the owner said modern synthetic rubber isn't anywhere near as long lasting as wellies with a high rubber content. He also said that our natural resource for rubber has been declining, hence why they now tend to use synthetic materials/ or a mix of synthetic & rubber.

I need a new pair of wellies/ work boots soon so this is a useful thread.

cheers, steve
