Im expecting a big repair bill on my landrover soon- after 6 years of it pulling 1.5t-3ton diggers round Dartmoor its never had a major breakdown so reckon its gotta be on the cards!

Can't beat a Landrover for hard graft. Don't really give a toss if water comes in through the footwells!

Ha ha Hodge, i thought if i expected it i hoped it would never come!

Its a 300tdi hicap Jon, done me really well, but Chassis is starting to let it down a bit so may consider a galv one if it behaves itself this year.

Hi Matthew good old trucks new chassis thanks Jon

Its all about where you get your replacement parts from and if you are willing to do it yourself.

Two years back I got a second hand gearbox for £200 for my defender, fitted it myself.

This week I'm getting a replacement transfer box for £80, I'll fit that myself too.

Given the abuse my landy gets and a hap hazard maintenance schedule I think it does me just fine.
