I've still got the sad bones of my 262xp. Beaut of a saw, what speed /power/ no weight but appalling reputation for seizures. This was good till doing some lakeside clearance work it caught fire (grass debris). My immediate reaction to use the flywheel of still running saw to put out flames

Bloody sensative phone - I hadn't finished ! Anyway flywheel picked up water from lake as hoped but instead of spraying it all round engine just powered the lot down air injection tube !!

One day she'll be reborn I hope

It was the saw I used most in my working life, I had three from new, still got them but only the latest two still running.

I cannot remember when they were introduced, before we used 162 266,268 and 272 and 242 or Jonsered 2051 for small stuff.

My favourite has to be my little MS170.

Purchased from new in 2006, it can sit on the shelf for months without being used then fire up on the third pull.

Still has the original bar, sprocket etc, the only thing that has broken was the chain brake band.

Not bad for a hobby saw.
