I have a monster beech tree on the edge of a cliff to zip line 200m over a ravine to the ground 50m below.

My question is about the retrieval of the pulley after I send down a branch.

Normally I would have it to a pull up the tree and down to the ground for the groundies to pull by hand.

Is there a mechanical, faster or easier way to do this ?

Cheers

Yeah that's the prob!!

Done plenty zip lines before and by the time you've dragged the line back 20 times your goosed so doing it 200m, 20 times and with the drop too will be a bit much.

Fishing reel with a cordless screw gun to wind it in. ??

200 m of rigging line must have cost a pretty penny

Talking of fishing reels....

Is this a wind up?? :)

Or have we all just taken the bait?

(Sorry). :)

He's right though. Well not 500.

I've never bothered with a haul back zipline. In my experience to make that system worthwhile you need to take big bits, and it's not always easy to do that when your zipline is anchored high up on a skinny top.

I have about 12 slings/crabs which I'll zip down and get sent back up.

On that job 20 sounds more like it.

£300 which was still cheaper than a crane which was the other option.

I thought of drill/screw gun with throw line but I reckon after a couple of times it would birds nest.
