No, but will be shortly as he can haul from you in N. Devon later; spoke to him this am.

When BT finished here KK coming down with a load - I think ! Can you get 30 - 40 m3 on a drag? What did MD manage to load at Aveton?

Yes, got 39.5m3 on MDs 6+D in this top pic; it was rammed on the drag and could have put even more on the front but would have been overweight... 10 foots...

He has 4 lorries; 1x8w, 2x6+D, 1xartic.

Cant find ticket of what weight it came in at, all wood was sub 300 as regular driver knows it is for processor. As for M3 it came in lower than expected. If its going to sit around for a while as ours does, get the driver to put it on runners.

There are so few 8 wheelers left, trying to get hold of one is next to impossible.

The other issue with 8 wheelers is that quite a few are 8x2 with a lifting rear axle. I have seen one of those fail to get out of its owners yard one icy morning.

When I used to buy timber I had to have a 6 and drag, the drag was left in a lay by while the 6 came into the yard to drop, then they went and put the timber off the drag onto the 6 and then the 6 brought that. This used to cost an extra £100 plus vat. The 6 and drag used to carry about 25 tonne.
