I tried back in April to do it, purely to organise my paperwork better. Applied with UK fuels. We don't have a landline(you need to be at home to use one of these!)

They required one so after discussing it with the person on the telephone we gave my parents number and they said they wouldn't use it.

Uk fuels then rang it to verify it was a real number.

We chucked it, as we were aiming for less hassle and have dealt with banks etc over the phone like this before and it ends up being a headachce of unreasonableness.

This is my experience, probably won't affect others.

Like the age of the computer was going to be almost paperless, what should be simpler is often more time consuming.

I've got the Texaco one at the moment as the nearest three petrol stations to me are Texaco.

This weeks price is 92.16ppl + VAT.

The cards are limited to petrol and diesel only. The reason I have them is so the drivers can refuel when needed without me having to hand out cash or a company credit card.

The sooner they go to chip and pin the better.

I'm on Fastfuels from BWOC and my price is 92.96 this week so I guess they have a bit of discretion depending on your business. They do charge more than pump price for petrol though, also a surcharge to buy from Tesco or Morrisons.

I have now had the card declined at two Texaco stations, the first the cashier just refused it and when I insisted it was the only payment I had he rang it through and told me never to buy there again (shame as it is near my home and nearly on my route to work) then yesterday I fueled up a transit at 10:00 with £81 okay and then filled my van at 17:00 ,the EPOS machine verified my *pin* and declined the sale with "NOT AUTHORISED TRANSACTION CANCELLED". Cashier would not 'phone BWOC so I had to revert to arval which is pump price plus 2 quid.

I'm severely tempted to drop BWOC and go with shell if I can get a cheap deal and if there is no surcharge at motorway service stations, any feedback gratefully received.

Like most things in life the cards can work well but take your eye off the ball and they will give you a right shafting.

The reason I have two cards is to get the best price. But I notice the card companies list the advantages of a card and price is at the bottom.

If I use a bunkering she'll garage ( all motorway ones) it's 92p if I use one off the major routes it's £1.30 not funny in an Amazon.

Both my cards were free now they are trying to charge me £30'for the next 3 years.

If your bank account suffers a glitch they will charge £30 for a missed dd

If you loose or wear the card out £40 for a new one.

No loyalty points with a card which negates most of the savings.

Signing in to get your statement can be more ball ache than checking your paper credit card at the end of the month.

They start off good prices but Ifyou spend less than 8k a month they start shafting you on price. If you spend that sort of money get two suppliers then take the business away from them and then squeeze their balls they are a snakey lot.

All in all if I did not have the cards I would give them a miss.

Hodge

Does the weekly price hold at any Shell station?

Is there a surcharge on petrol?

I have a list of garages I can use to get that price, if I use a shell not on the list it is pump price. The one I use is 5 mins away and very handy. No idea on petrol.
