i want something that won't mind being outside left on site in messy coditions etc etc

As hodge said they are very bass heavy with no way of turning it down. Saying that I'm on my second Makita radio, they are the dogs..... Don't get leaving it outside, they ain't waterproof...... That's why I'm on my second one.

 

No idea what the difference is between the 104 and the 106. Makita radios are a bit like Apple products, you buy the latest one and a few months down the line it's the old one.

Just a quick question: Do you want to charge your drill batteries up on the radio?

 

Not all radios can charge batteries, De Walt do, Makita Do Not

 

Any are ok if you are using them from 240v of course or even the drill battery

got a View Quest DAB radio in the workshop, bit of a 50s retro feel to it but the sound is excellent as it is stereo and with a wooden box.

 

The best thing is it picks up all the "Absolute" series of channels and Absolute 80s and Absolute Rock is the way to go IMO, Soooooo much better than just about every local or national station......Heart......more choice....my arse:001_rolleyes:

We have the Dewalt radio from screwfix. It's great, just what we need. Can't compare it to anything else as we only own one. But at least it gives you another one to compare.

The Metabo one can run off an 18v battery , then charges that battery when plugged into the mains , but maybe they all do that dunno . I'm after the Metabo because I run a few of their cordless tools so makes sense that way .
