It seems to be full of Aucklanders with flash holiday homes these days. They don't seem to know what an arborist is either. Or a tree surgeon. Arbortrist seems to be about as close as they can get.

There have been threads on this in the past, and I have never really been that bothered by what we are called, but trying to optimise my new website has raised a few issues. Such as did you know that more people google "lumberjack" in the UK than "arborist"?

 

Makes you think about what your customers search for...

 

Anyway I wrote this blog in reflection...

When ever discussed the subject always seems to divide opinion and generate interesting debate on variation of job title, description and meaning.

 

Even in the Tree Officer field the titles variy from Local Authority borough to borough.

I read one the other day that was listed as Urban Forester.

Thought that was a good one that was both descriptive and understandable from a public perspective.
