I don't think it had a manal, ots pretty simple. Just a couple of spikes to whack into the wood and an on button really

I've a feeling most moisture meters for wood will measure the moisture content of a sample as a %age of the dry weight. For my calculations I have used the wet weight basis. So by my measure the piece of oak was initially 41% mc wwb which is the same as 69% dry weight basis, the blue book suggests fresh oak should be 47% wwb or 86% dwb green.

They don't know the weight of the bit wood you're sticking them into though. I assumed they worked on basis of resistance between pins when compared to the control measure (100% moisture?)

Thats my understanding Wood wasp - its a simpe measurement of resistance between the two pins isn't it?

My kilns been running at around 70degrees for the last few weeks. Blowing a big breeze through it as well!

Ok, so if you've got 70 degrees in the kiln with a breeze and 25 degrees with a breeze outdoors then the kiln would dry maybe three times faster? What difference does humidity make to the equation?
