Stihl MS880 or Husqvarna 3120xp choice

Hello

 

I am thinking of buying an alaskan mill capable of milling boards up to 40" with a 46" bar but most work will be done on a 36" bar for 30" boards.

 

I cannot decide between the 2 big saws, money is not a problem as they are so similarly priced.

 

Any help would be great.

personally aidon't rate the 3120 at all 880 all day for me

We have a 880 must be 7 years old and comes out once a month and always starts first time, every time. We run it on a 30 inch bar most of the time but will handle much bigger with ease. I like other husky saws but think the 880 takes some beating at the top end of the large saw market market

There hasn't been much posted about the 3120 another good design that has stood the test of time more or less unchanged ?? That was realised in the 80's

No one has actually stated practical reasons why they prefer the 880, just two that just 'like' it. Forums are very good at destroying a brand, business or reputation just through people's personal dislike.
