Have you thought about Barbel fishing Jon?

The Wye can't be far from you. Thats arguably the best river in the country for barbel, and barbel are the best coarse fish to catch (IMHO).

Hi two no I've not mate thanks for offer rich 👍I'm told barbel fight well thanks John

No problem Jon. Two they been landing them up to 13 lb on here

Sounds good Richie. I've got the Wensum very near to me. Biggest I've had was 13lb 4oz but I've seen a 20lb fish landed. Mind you that was five years ago (I have five year old twins so not had time for fishing much). I've heard the otters have decimated the barbel round here sadly. I have a mate who fishes the Wye evey year, tells me its ace

Well I'm onthe river here so I've never got as far as the sea. My neigbour goes Bass fishing though. Sometimes I get a Seabass filet passed over the hedge  I like the idea of eating what you catch.

You name it they use it. One bloke uses spam soaked in hp sauce and yep it works. Steve Pope who writes for the angling times has got a holiday home on here

Biggest fish I had was caught on strawberry flavoured luncheon meat. Friend of mine caught the twenty pounder on black pud (he owns a B&B so it was left ober from a breakfast:thumbup1:)

I should have go but Mrs R will kill me if i take up a new hobby  one bloke caught a 5 lb salmon on maggots this week.

don't tell her its a hobby Richie. If you could put a five pound salmon on the kitchen table, like that bloke, then surely you're making a valuable contribution to the family :sneaky2:
