The OP didnt ask about naff japanese plastic ......he asked about 2 different land rover models, both of which are in his words 'something special' not some soulless plastic fantastic. And yet again, just to set the record straight, JAPANESE MOTORS ARE JUST AS UNRELIABLE AS LANDROVERS. Oh, and he wants some refinement, not something to hack around africa in.

Has arbtalk really come to this????? I stayed away for ages, now started looking again and already the threads are land rover versus toyota ffs.

I know two lads that have owned the tdv8`s, one sold his to buy a new one and is now looking at getting rid of it to find another v8. He reckons that his old V8 was a much better vehicle, the other guy that has one will never part with it , nobody could give a vehicle as much stick as this guy does and its held together well. Its always got an overweight trailer behind it towing at excessive speeds . they really are a stonking motor.

Well said.... it took only the second post for the thread to go off topic.... If you've got something to say about an off topic subject then start a thread... :sneaky2:

And like others have said the OP wants a little refinement, kudos, etc.... never to had from a plastic Japanese truck....

Looking round the net , and reading these posts , I have a hankering g for the TDV8 Range Rover.

Whilest still from the Land Rover stable , it appears to be fairly reliable , classy inside and very good at towing.

Thank you all for your input.
