hi folks

looking for recommendations on semi pro saw for a elderly neighbour (old Forrester) mostly for cutting fire wood and occasional overhanging limbs, looking for something that is lighter, with good reliability, he has a budget of around £300-£400 any thoughts

Hi

S/H Husky 346

S/H Stihl 241

Dolmar 421

Echo 360

Makita worth a look but I dont know them, take care down the S/H route though, I wouldnt buy without testing as there are plenty of rouges on E-bay!

Before making recommendations, it should be esablished what size of saw it is about.

A £400 price limit likely will limit the options drasically, among the better semi-pro saws - but I don't have intimate knowledge of UK chainsaw prising.....

Would an electric saw be out of the question?

Should I duck now?

husky 350/jonny 2150

Those are not semi-pro saws, but high end homeowner saws.

The 353/2152 are excellent semi-pro saws in the 50cc class, as are the newer 545/2252.
