Definitely worth the extra cost! Just be cautious when instaling them, if using a post knocker I would suggest some sort of full face screen as every time the weight hits it could spray creosote and also wear gloves and cover your arms, I wound up with creo burns to my arm and face after about 1000m of creo post and rail, it's lethal stuff but still the best treatment for timber. Not sure where you are in the country but may be worth checking price against calders and grandidge in Boston. I'll vouch for the quality of their creo products

The Octoposts are manufactured from a Swedish grown redwood. The timber is harvested from in or near the Arctic, so are very dense. The posts are shaped octagonally, kiln dried and high pressure treated with creosote. They come with a 25 year guarantee.

 

Posts sizes go from 80mm to 200mm and up to 5m in length to suit many applications, including, agriculture, forestry, equestrian, poultry, aviary, deer, otter, forestry, solar, road and rail.
