Last year we had 2 young pigeons on a lawn out of a connie. They were well feathered and nearly at the flying stage. From in the tree i saw one of the lads place these 2 birds on top of a panel fence. A minute later a sparrow hawk swooped in and grabbed one, i didnt see what happened to the other,he looked a bit vunerable on there, so i dont think he was around for very long either.

I think we've all done it at some point, always good to relocate close by & give them a chance.

 

Don't do what I did when we had wrens nesting in the eves of our place, saw about six on the patio one morning, scooped them up put them back in the nest so the dogs didn't get them.

Three times I did this until I looked on the net & read that when ready to fledge, wrens leave the nest & prepare to fly from the ground, which would account for the angry looks they gave me.
