Pole Lathe bowl Turning thread anyone??

looks good for 60+.

 

that's elm and i wouldn't expect it to move much anyway but you've done some in beech and in my experience that can shift or split quite a bit.

 

on occasion the thicker bowls can move quite a bit as there is more tension left in the wood.

 

Yep i get the odd split with beech and the bigger bowls become more uneven in shape over time but nothin to bad. I actually made my first bowl with beech its over a year old now and has maintained it's shape (very small and thin though).
