Is this expensive for artic of sycamore?

I would think by the third year the sycamore will be going over. You would need to keep the rain off it then. Presumably your shelter is totally rain proof.

 

I am just processing up some big sticks that came into me in 2011, to big for my processor so I just put them in my "one day" heap. Billeted them late last summer, now perfectly dry.

Sycamore does not weigh light when green it drys very quickly so can become light if left.

 

Stand a 3 ft log on it's end on a concrete floor and leave for a few hours you will get a puddle of water from it.

 

I never thought about it this way before but if you stood cord on end would it season quicker ?

Not totally rain proof but sheltered. Each bay holds about 5 cubes (measured loose). Pretty standard store facing prevailing wind.

Yes great wood store :thumbup:

 

Should not have any serious mould issues with sycamore stored in there. As for buying the load if it's possible I would take a look at it before delivery. I have had loads in the past where it's described as "well seasoned" and this means the darn stuff is rotting.
