I've had four people phone me in the last few days with the same request....

I've managed to get my tree down but theres so much of it, would you be able to come and get rid of it for me?

The DIYers round here usually come out with....

"I've cut halfway through my tree & the saw got stuck. Can you sort it out for me?"

Viewing the job more often than not reveals some additional problem such as house, road, powerline etc... in the drop zone but they still grumble when given a quote for sorting out the mess they made.

Are they not just dumping all the focus stores they didn't want after the buy out?

Damn! When they took over the Focus sites, my nearest store came within a few miles. If the shut that one, it'll be back to being over an 80ml. round trip. In which case online sales with Screwfix, (the same company' and Toolstation will be getting my custom.

Just sorted a Neighbour farmer, four days 12 hrs/day2 lads chipping me on loader, surcharged 2 sets of knives, he still walking funny;-)

Said he would give me the rest of his clearance work on 3 farms,

Very profitable! I used turn down other people's mess, now I take it all on, and reap the rewards, sure it's heavy on the chipper but it is well maintained, and I invest it back into the gear.best of all it fills the days when it's too windy for other work!

Good on you, Sandworks.

If you have the time and inclination, why not make good bucks out of it.

I personally don't as I've found the domestic penny pinchers don't want to spend much and they assume it's just the 'easy' bit left to do.

If you do it - charge good money. Anyone who undercuts will only do it once.

Yeah, love the attitude, "sheer it's only "the. Tops of branches" and they are fecked in an awful mess of a pile!

So I usually get them to try pulling out a few branches, they soon realize their dilemma!

Looked at a diy mess yesterday, 35 foot lellandi's in 50 foot garden, all dropped into the middle, 3 sets of power lines damaged,5phone lines damaged, all crossing each other, 😡

No access, bar 24" gap at side, kerchinggggg€€€€€€€👍👍👍
