HI STUBBY how long mate it cold down near the river to thanks jon :thumbup:

 

They say that if it cant get back on its feet the gut gets lodged or missplaced so it cant get rid of any gasses and it inflates and dies . Don't know how true this is though .

that is so , sometimes you have to hold them up on their legs til the stomach rights itself , very common just before lambing due to extra size . twin lamb toxaemia and staggers can be underlying cause of sheep on backs ( being caste )

Stood one back up last winter . It was all wrapped up in long tough bramble . Cut it out with a knife . No gloves either ! Think I was in worse shap in the end !

Good man Jon, when they're on their side, in a hollow or with their legs facing uphill and they can't get up, the liquids in their stomachs covers the bit that let's the gases belch up normally, so it can't escape and they get bloated, if not stood up they die! Well done to your mrs for spotting them👍
