Hi guys wondering if anyone's had the same problem with their 660, the other day I was using it and the brake just wouldn't engage unless you really smacked the brake forward, I took it home took it apart, cleaned it out but still same problem. It's still under warrenty and honey bros said they would fix it but it's just a pain in the arse to send it away so I wana try sort it myself first. Many thanks H

If the brake works fine when the saw is cold but becomes impossible to engage when hot then it's the same as mine and I believe is a common problem with the 660.

As said earlier, it's the exhaust heat that causes the plastic handle to lose rigidity.

I've put a duel port muffler on mine, had the exhaust outlet adapted and also put so reflective adhesive on the handle. It's helped but it's still a problem.

I had the same with mine, about 2008 model.

Exhaust heat used to affect the plastic.

It sorted itself out after a month or two.

It was dangerous because the temptation was to push the brake forward with your right hand to make it engage, which is a very bad idea.
