I have used impact gun on many saws

No need to jam anything in and never had a problem

Though I do know which way it goes

I don't like shoving anything down the cylinder

Otherwise a quick sharp crack

What kind of gains does the ignition advance give?

I'm weighing up getting it modified as it currently is, or getting the upgrade pack put on it. Or both :)

Not a massive amount but like a few saws, it is a matter of tweaking many htings to get an overall gain if power! The muffler mod still gives the simplest and biggest gain.

I have a new 201 (1 mth old), is it worth doing muffler mod to it, as lacking once you bury the bar.

It will invalidate your warranty if you do it and you should find the saw will get better with use as the piston will bed in with use.

If it is still not good after the warranty has elapsed.........

Okay, cheers :)

I guess what I'm wondering is would sending my 201t (already got a muff mod) your way be worth the money for the potential gains?

Probably not worth it TBH, the muffler mods I have done have been quite effective at bringing up the MS201 to standard MS200 type performance.

I havent really cracked in to one of these saws yet to see what the maximum performance I can get out of it is.
