what grease do you use

What grease do you use for your chipper/stump grinder? mainly the flywheel shaft of cutter head shaft? I did have a huge box of grease tubes a friend acquired for me but they are almost gone so need some proper stuff asap.

Where do you get cartridges from Tom? Looked online and seems to be Amazon/ebay.

 

Got a box of normal cartridges, once they're gone I'll try new system as fed up of mess

Any good quality Lithium based grease will do. I use JCB HP grease mainly because its easy to get hold of. I've also been known to use a graphite grease but that is thick sticky stuff, that normally goes in hard to reach places as it takes a long time to come out.

Try Speedy grease system, contact TD agri 07908656097 can use standard cartridge with adapter.

The fuchs ones are slightly larger and taylor made, can be had mail order though. The speedy system is similar and is ok. Still not a quick and easy as the fuchs though.

Graphite grease is not designed for high spinning bearings!

 

It primary purpose is for high load sliding surface contact lubricant

Hence the thick tacky constancy

 

 

This would be a more suitable grease

EPK2 lithium based grease which has a high load (Extreme Pressure) high melting point - perfect for high spinning bearings

EP2 high temp in bearings. Buy ours in boxes of 24.

 

Hardly ever use the grey graphite stuff but it does have it's applications.
