Husky xp oil worth the extra ££££ ??

I feel for the gents that are running a number of saws to make a living, but i always refer back to the old saying buy cheap, buy twice, for me its stihl oil and super unleaded, or by the way no supermarket petrol, (sorry probably going to get in trouble for that one). may be old schoolish way (sorry) but it works, does all this LS, XP, etc double the price really work? im no engineer so only time will tell hey.

 

You would be better off paying less for not so high octane fuel and spending what you save on a better quality oil ...dare I say it ........Red Line Racing 2T oil

i see where you're coming from, but i've used stihl oil and super unleaded for years with no problems, many of hundreds or thousands or forestry men have done the same with both husky and stihl saws with no troubles, just a though gents.

Just think how much better your saw would run on lower octane fuel then and then add up the extra cost for years and see what you could have saved

right quick question I have found that after a days cutting using husky xp oil petrol mix my eyes sting like hell but when I use stihl oil my eyes are fine anyone else find this ???????????????

Not exactly the same - but after using Aspen for (many) years, I bought a can of Stihl Motomix premix just to try it. It worked just fine in the engines - but I found that the fumes smelled really bad. I never used the single 5 litre jug up, it was that bad - for me.

The real point is that my brother uses the same fuel, and has no issues with it.

 

We have discussed it, but the conclution is obvious - people just are different!

You are aware more ethanol goes into higher octane fuels? Super unleaded is designed to have a higher knock point, this is done by adding larger hydrocarbons to the fuel, which includes ethanol.

 

Stubby, I wondered how long before you pitched your oil!
