Just wondering what others do regarding protection. I rarely use them but most of our men who do have cut their leg at some point. All have been wearing normal work trousers. Obviously safe working practices are the main thing. Any company policies?

Not sure how much protection chainsaw trousers are going to give you? Wouldn't the blades just shear through the kevlar fibres? I know Stihl at least make some hedge cutting specific trousers not sure how they work though.

With hedge cutters, it`s my fingers that feel the most vulnerable... that`s not to say other bits aren`t at risk, but I have to say that I like to be able to cut in both directions which keeps me moving all round and is better for me old back, so I prefer double sided in most cases. cheers

I once managed to swing right round whilst trimming the top of a connie hedge and nip my butt cheeks. I was wearing my chainsaw trousers but there ain't no protection in that area!
