1 within Arb .thankfully underweight and tank dip just was an old k reg transit with brush on back but was mentioned it should be sheeted/netted :)

 

3 times as a lgv driver again all stisfactory apart from minor items (side light gone ,curtain side hook broken and flapping etc)

Who do you think is likely to pull Traffic cops with voser no1 I guess, traffic police on Mway which I trie to keep off, What about the local plod?

 

Area car Police aren't bothered unless your obviousley doing someing daft.

 

Organized stops are VOSA and the traffic police.

interestingly i found out the other day that vosa are not allowed to count the driver in with the payload....has to do with discriminating against overweight drivers i believe.

b oth times i was weighed i was told to stay in the vehicle..so remember that one if you get weighed.

 

err the driver is part of the load and is also part of the EEC kerb weight (75kg) either way the weight of the driver is included that is why you are asked to stay in the vehicle as are ALL passengers.

 

if you are a overweight driver then that is your hard luck, if ALL driver have to stay in there vehicle when weighed then there is NO discriminating as ALL drivers will be treated the same :wave:

well thats not what i was told....im trying to remember who told me, should look into it.

They might be referring to first plate & test or when the EEC kerb weight is not known or established, then the driver is not in the vehicle when weighed but 75kg is added on top of the weight to account for an average EEC person.

 

DIN kerb weight = vehicle with all fluids 100% full and fuel tank >90% full (preferably 100% full) & no driver.

 

EEC kerb weight = DIN kerb weight + 75kg (68kg driver and 7kg luggage) to Directive 92/21/EC version 95/48/EC
