Courtesy Chipper? Greenmech Warranty issues

This is the second time in 4 months my new Greenmech Arborist 150 has had to go back to Orange plant.

1st time it had a faulty alternator cable (sounds simple but took them 3 days to discover this, they originally thought it needed a new alternator and asked me to pay them £550 just incase it wasn't covered in the warranty!)

This time the Hydraulic Pump has packed up causing the rollers to not work.

This in itself is inconvenient but my main problem is that I then have to pay full wack to hire a chipper from the dealer while they wait a few days for the parts and them getting round to fixing it. at £120 a day that soon starts getting expensive.

Bearing in mind it costs more than a lot of new cars I was expecting them to be more helpful than that.

I have found Orange Plant technicians to be super helpfull and responsive.

Ready and willing to help.

But on the management level, something very rotten and avericious pervades the corridors of their HQ.

The demanding of £500 Squids in case the chipper issue was NOT warranty is a fine example of this attitude towards customer care from this business.

I will never recommend them or ever deal with them again after the trial I had over a used Stumpgrinder in 2014.

Greenmech though, as company could not be more helpfull and proactive towards their customers and their needs.

3 days to find a tiny fault in a cable smacks of incompetance by Orange Plant.

Stand your ground!

Its not as if it it is costing them £100 a day as they have plenty of machines sat around. If they just asked me to pay to cover a checking over, sharpening the blades fuel etc I would be fine with that. They said they could do me a discounted hire and let me have an old timberwolf 150 for only £95 + vat a day when its only 100 anyway, that's really helping me out!

I think i'll contact Greenmech to see if they find this satisfactory customer service.

I bought a used Jensen from Redwood years ago. It then had a series of problems which was very annoying but I knew it to be wear and tear. It's also the risk you take buying used machines.

Anyway, Redwood actually offered to lend me a machine while they figured out one of the problems.

I regard that as exceptional customer service, way beyond anything they needed to do and one of the reasons why I always advocate their services.
