Re Estimates

I have done a number of quotes lately of which I have been asked to rethink my price by the customer! So far I have refused to budge on my price as I have a clear margin and understand my running costs etc, at least I hope I do. Does anyone get this or am I over quoting though I am happy from feedback and friends in the business that my rates are competitive!!!

It seems to me that if you ask for a quote, you get a quote and if its outside of your budget, thats life, also I am not really happy to discuss my individual costs with potential customers. Does anyone think its worth being flexible and take a hit to build up business, or carry on regardless?

Anyway the work is still coming in so maybe I am doing some of my quoting correctly!

You are doing the right thing I recon . There will always be some people that want top beat you down and you could add a bit on first to offset that but you may loose more than you gain . Always be polite and stick to your guns bud .

He or she has no right to say anything to you regarding the price you put in or how you come to what you quoted. He or she either accept the quote you put in or they don't it's that simple.you don't have to justify your price or how you work it out to anyone. Cheeky git for even saying what he or she did.
