Thanks for the replys so far guys to be honest I've had enough of Stihl. The top handle is my bread and butter, for the 201t to be such shite is a bit of a swift kick. I changed my ground saws to Husqy 395 and 560 which are both excellent. I will probably get the Husqy top but want to know more about the build quality from other owners and also more about the Echo saws.

Keep em coming please it is much appreciated.

The T540 will be ok as long as you NEVER drop it on its strop . Good strong motor but the plastics are fragile .

Had the echo since its release and not had a problem with it. Would say it's been used 3-4 days a week since new so had a good bit of use and plenty of time for any issues to show up but nothing has. Has lots of power and torque and feels comfortable and balanced in the hand, what more could you want? Not really a lot more to say than you will not be dissapointed if you purchase one. In fact I'm almost certain you will be pleasantly surprised

I reassembled a 200t and got it running. Definitely selling the 201 now!

Hearing about the Husqy and lightweight casings puts me off a little. It will occasionally get snagged through Coni's etc, my 201 filter cover got ripped off the other day. It looks and sounds like the Echo has the build but does it have the grunt? The price is also attractive.

Has anyone done this!? I'd be interested to know if it's true or hearsay...

Not sure if I've still got the receipt...

Joe..Just spoke to Buxtons about getting our 201 upgraded..

They say providing it falls within the designated serial numbers they will do it free....

We're putting it through in a couple of weeks..

I'll let you know what the serial numbers are when we do it..
