Have done a few jobs snatching palm trunks, not all that fun, especially for the climber.. Found that you gotta cut notches into the trunk where the half hitch or termination knot is to stop them slipping when it drops into the block... And its alot heavier than it looks!

 

Cut up rings into 4 or even 6 peices to lob it in the truck and then pay lots of money to dump it all. Then clean up all the crap that comes off them.

Think there used to be a palm that went through the roof at Myerscough college.

 

Did the insurance pay out on that, who cut it down ? :lol:

Think it was planted in a conservatory and grew to big to transplant so they let it grow through the roof. Was coming into flower when I was on a course there so concern that it would die. Not heard anymore since.

we just love them end of day is always taking machines apart for cleaning:001_smile::001_smile:

palm weevil gives us some work also we collect and roast them with jack daniels sauce:001_tt2::001_tt2:
