Been out today and bought some 'decent' punches and a blow torch for myself.

Extracted my cheapo snapped punch, then knocked the roll pin out with heat and decent punch!

Cheers everyone :D

Well done,a bit of heat works wonders.

You can get the whole assembly c/w wheel !

The price varies depending on track unit used which changes depending on suppliers prices to the manufacture so not always easy to match up, but usually around £250-300 per wheel.

Sometimes bearing failure is mistaken for wear in the slide channel of the track unit !!

Wow! What an expensive job!

Front main roller, bearings knackered and pin knackered.

The three other little rollers, bearings dissintegrated! Shafts buggered.

Its cheaper and easier to replace the small rollers.

Dear job!

My question is, what grease do i put on the bearings? Id normally put multi purpose grease on but redwood said long life?

Cheers

Is it the top roller?

If it is, make sure you keep cleaning out the crap that builds up between the roller and the bearing. Unfortunately there is a gap that gets filled when doing conifer, laurel and holly mainly I find. It builds up into a hard compressed lump around the shaft and puts wear on the side of the bearing race and once knackered, the bearing case will soon wear a groove onto the shaft.

Mine squeals like mad when it's pretty caked up. It's worth the 10-15 minutes to stop and clear it out.
