i personally prefer the husky 288 over most of the newer saws , i have changed the AV mounts and im my opinion there is no difference betwene the 288xp and some of the new huskys when it comes to AV

i have been using bluetooth headsets for nearly 2 years now, the difference in work is unbelievable, work rate goes up, there is no wasted time or frustration..all the little minutes of waiting for folk to turn round or look up or even coming back from the truck saying' i cant find it' soon add up to earning time..my headsets have muffler buttons...so if someone is on the saw for ages you just ask them to hit the button, cancels out their noise. also your phone can go through them aswell, the same button answers it and cancels the other person from hearing you. mine are peltors, they are needing repaired and i havent had a chance to send them away, really miss them. great comunication for climbers and operators, the guy up the tree can see everything before it happens, whether its a wee old lady coming round with a cupa and there is a branch on her greenhouse you can just tell them to hurry up or keep her busy, or the crazy dog walker that has pushed the signs out the way and crepty under the tika tape. a must for any team

I saw those headsets at the AA show,I am just not sure they would be waterproof enough to cope here.I worked with some comms in Germany that had throat microphones.They looked like ex army and you carried a box on your harness.

 

Can you still ge ones like that?
