An idiot alone

Hi All,

As some of you may know I manage a 200 acre ancient woodland in Suffolk. I currently work on my own coppicing, thinning, ride widening, restoring the ponds, and producing firewood and charcoal. It is beginning to dawn on me that I could achieve a lot more with the woodland, and have more fun with some help.

This is where it gets complicated as I am not really looking for an employee, more a partner on an equal footing to myself. Income is derived from converting and selling the resource, currently firewood and charcoal but potentially all manner of things.

As anyone who already works in this sector knows there is not huge amounts of money to be made, but seeing the woodland transform through your actions is hugely rewarding and there is scope for taking things in interesting directions.

The woodland owner has other woods too so there is plenty to go at.

Anyone with relevant experience, interested in nature, up for a challenge and resistant to bad jokes feel free to send me a pm before Christmas and we can have a chat in the new year.

All the best, TVI
