Now that I've repaired the hole where the saw cut itself, the damn oiler doesn't appear to be working!

Does anyone have experience with this?

How to get it out to check?

What to look out for.

Thanks.

How did you mend the hole ? If it was with JB weld or similar you may have got some on the pick up pipe blocking it .....

I used something similar to JB Weld but I'm going to assume that it's not responsible, because that would force me to kill myself.

Actually, I doubt that any got inside because I couldn't get the damn stuff to stick to the metal body but after some mild shouting I got the job done.:thumbup1::001_rolleyes:

See if you can hook the pickup pipe out and check it ....

The T540 has a fairly simple oil pump, but very reliable, it is more likly the nylon gear driven by the sprocket has stripped, remove the clutch and sprocket and check the condition of the gear.

540 and reliable in a sentence don't go together I'm calling you out on that :laugh1:

I can't help with the question but did the chain hit the magnesium crank case ? Do you have the original bar on?

Yes it hit the magnesium case and cut through into the oil tank.

I've got an Oregon bar. The original was made from thick air!
