Double or single cab?

Looking at a new transit tipper or iveco daily tipper. It will tow a tw150.

What are people's thoughts on cab space v extra weight?

double cab all the way........remove the rear seats.

Single with a roller shutter tool box, i hated the smell of petrol in the double cab even with a bulkhead.

Single cab, more room for chip.logs etc

Weight distribution over the axles?? IIRC many have warned that a double cab puts more of the load over the back axle, so even if you are under 3.5t gross, you can be over on the rear axle. This can lead to much sadness for the driver.

 

On top of that the double cab (usually with a longer chassis) weighs a fair bit more than a single cab witha tool box behind -QED less payload anyway.

I could never go back to having no tool storage, but my DC is a lot of weight wasted (unless you need to carry more than 3 crew, which I never do).

Super Cab - Occasional passenger space (never) but handy if required. Flip up seats for high value tool storage (and day to day stuff) with high tint windows.

Harder to find but worth the wait..........
