Walnut timber - Is this worth anything/of use to anyone?

Took down this medium walnut today. All sub six inch stuff was chipped but there was a fair bit of timber which we had to cut smallish to get through a doorway.

 

Is this worth anything to anybody? If not going for firewood

it's already cut in to firewood so why ask?

 

should ask before it's felled as you won't get much from it now...

Shame it had to be cut into short lengths - if you get anything which can be extracted long or milled where it falls I'd be interested as Mum lives in Hartley so I'm down that way quite often.

 

If anyone wants some of this I might be able to transport it for them - I drive up and down the A1 quite a bit and sometimes over to Derby.

I felled an avenue of 40yr old walnuts last month,40 trees,2.5m butts from 15" to 20",the lots gone into firewood,shame really but goes through the splitter great and burns well

The big money is in the root stock below ground. If good quality it's used to make high end shotgun stocks. But has to be got out all in one piece.
