Hetas course

Just thought I'd share something I was told on my Hetas course on Monday, we were talking about fuel and smoke control areas and he said if you deliver logs to a smoke control area and they are burning on a non Defra stove the log seller i liable, fine £5000.

 

Thoughts I'm not so sure, but didn't want to start an argument, as I have still got to go back to do the installers course.

If they are sub 5% mc you also get 50 lashes.

Same if they are softwood. Everybody knows you can't burn softwood in a stove. Even sub 5% mc softwood will block your flue in less than a minute. Where do people think some of these stoves are made, ffs? Scandinavia???????

That entire hetas thing is second only to a newly qualified health and safety officer for being completely up itself

I did a short stint logging for a firm doing stove sales and installation and was told by the owner that when he did his HETAS course, they were all told that they would pass in the welcome speech.

definitely sounds like a half arsed trainer who likes mouthing off.

 

How can someone delivering fire wood be held liable for a stove they probably wont even see.

This would require that every fire wood delivery driver would have to be fully trained in the relevant regulations and would need to be familiar with a lot of different types of stoves.

Hi when you go back to finish you course please find out from the guy were he has read this so that we can all have a read. ITS the first I have head regarding the matter . thanks
