I'm after some advice I know the figures can only be a rough guide but...

I'm wondering how much wood it would take to run an 8kw stove through winter

Open to hardwood / softwood options

Burning for about 8-10 hrs a day

Cheers

Tooo many variables . How efficient is your stove ( Burley , 89% efficiency , cheapo Chinese stove 38% efficiency ) , how dry is your wood etc etc etc to give an accurate punt at it :001_smile:

I think 2 logs per hour at 1.8kg a piece, which is about thirty kg a day, a goodish log basket, so between 2 and 3 tonnes

3 bed 1930s few draughts still some single glazing but slowly working around double glazing

I know this can only be a rough estimate but gives me a clue what I'll need over the next few months
