what i dont understand is how they will test tractors and trailers they might say to bring them to an hgv centre but for some it would mean driving machinery many miles just to get to one. The only logical solution i can think of is to have an inspector do an on site test do a visaul check and then run it up the road test the steering then jump on the brakes etc

never going to hapen, to many lords are big landowners/farmers, and the cost to them will not be acceptable, plus how can you "mot" a vehicle when there are no standards to test to, do you ban all older tractors off the road, do you only allow "newish" trailers, what about towed implements, to many problems, the law as it stands is clear, no suspension, no exceed 20mph, if more fines were imposed for breaking it, the farming comunity would start to comply

Derailing it again; I'm very pro farming. I blame the super markets.

They force the price down so low that an average sized farmer can't make money and small farms never get going. This forces (along with a few other "green" policies) the subsidy system to ensure that we can basically feed our selfs as a nation

Not only do they force the price down on food, because they literally employ millions of people they help set the wage of the country. All these large companies like tesco and morrisons have a huge amount of swing and by refusing to pay a higher minimum wage to thier employees you suddenly find yourself in a position where your forced to subside every home under £40k?? A year, with working family tax credits, child benefits, housing benifits etc etc etc because other wise homes on a wage of less than £20k a year will just starve to death.

So the government subsidise the food production so the super markets can buy it cheap................and then they subsidise society so the supermarkets can sell food expensive.

Think on it ;)
