Who uses IBC crates?

Up until now ive been seasoning my wood in sheds but I need to expand and im looking into using IBC crate. Before I invest in them I would like to get as much info as possible, how long do they last?, how much should I be paying if im buying 100?, whats the best way to handle them?, how high can I stack them?, can I tip them?, etc. Any advice greatly appreciated.

We use them and they are great. East to fill, easy to move around and stack with a forklift.

We stack them 4 high but thats about max that feels safe:

 

We can tip them into the back of the truck no issues, takes a bit of time to get the technique right but its ok. A 360 rotator would be the one!

Do you store them in the shed all year or just move them in over winter? I was thinking on stacking them outside 2 high (that's as high as I can get with my compact tractor and forks) then covering with a tarpaulin weighed down by tyres.

Hi we use them and have done now for about 4 years only trashed one out of about 100 and that was my fault,wood seems to season faster in them than it does in a stack in a shed,we stack ours 3 high as thats as far as our forks will lift,i think they are a easy way to store logs and we seem to get more in the space available,they are easy to tip once you get the knack of it, we have a constant supply of them and currently have about 40 for sale,hope this helps

I scrouged 6 to try for storing logs for the biomass, we cut to 700 lengths, so i cut one side out of the frame so i could put the logs straight in from the logsplitter, and park the pallet beside the biomass and no reaching down over the frame. Only stacked em 2 high just incase. Couldnt get them cheaply delivered so we bought 50 vented dumpy sacks instead. The idea was to store em in the barns till needed and keep at least 8 outside near the bio, considering we can burn a crate full a day easy.
