chainsaw sharpening tips

I am a great hater of the "banana" cuts that were mentioned earlier....i always keep my bar rails filed correctly....but has anyone got any advice for easier ways to keep the flat file level when filing along the top of the rail (i use an engineer's square) but it gets a bit tedious on a long bar that has sloping rails

when dressing bars they arehardened by heat and blunt files try a carbarundum stone to at least break through the outside layer but dont use your nice one get a cheap one as it wears grooves in big time
