if i want to get a decent shine on some of my bowls sand the first coat back with 380-400 buff it with cotton and apply another coat.

personally i would leave as long as you can between coats, when i did my side table for college i had the luxury of leaving it 7 days between coats. it had 3 coats in the end.

Probably depends on the brand but could get Rustins danish oil to be dry enough to sand overnight. I like to use 240 grit silicon carbide paper between coats as silicone carbide is less prone to clogging. Wire wool is fine if this is something curved or undulating but prefer paper on a cork block for flat items between coats. I don't think a bit of heat will do any harm as I always found Danish dried quickly in warmer weather but this may be partly down to humidity.

Don't over cook it and crack the wood thou :001_smile:

At least 16-24 between coats. If it'll be exposed to outdoor conditions, you'll need at least three coat. Rub it back between coats be all means but not with wire wool. If any bits break of, they can become embedded and you'll have to take the surface down a layer to remove them.

To be sure of a good quality finish it is best not to rush it , after all the other work that goes in to a piece many people just look at the finish and judge it by that ! Liberon finishing oil is always my first choice and I buff it as soon as I can after application , and repeat once a day for a few days .
