Iveco Daily

Anyone had any experiences good or bad with the Iveco Daily crew cab tipper? I'm thinking of buying one, any advice would be welcome.

I had a 4910 tipper, super truck pulled like a train, turned on a sixpence. Only hassles was body rot, but that could of been my particular truck, as I never knew its history.

Hold out for a 3 litre (35c14), pulls like a train which is handy if you're fully loaded with a reasonable size chipper or full 3.5T trailer.

Now that you mention it, I have my eye on a three litre lwb with a new tipper body fitted. Mint condition, I just need to have a good Day on the stock market and it's mine!

Good work truck, but cheap plastics in cab, bodies rot quickly - Iveco is owned by Fiat! and the parts are expensive.

We like ours, 35c12. 2.3 diesel... good on fuel and goes well...

 

cheap feel to cab like others have said but hey its a work truck...!

Try and get one with full alloy buck as the steel body is way too heavy, even with alloy sides. Got a 2.3 recently and seems good so far, nice and quiet, drives well and more economical than my older 2.8. Turning circle on the older model is far better though.

Parts are expensive and avaiabilty sometimes questionable. Many variations make id of parts hard, even for main dealers. Just my opinion though!

I've got the 3 litre, I drove the 2.3 and found it to asthmatic even unladen.

If you tow a 750kg chipper, with a full load on I felt that it would just be a struggle.

The compromise is that you get poorer economy, but it does pull well.

yep good 'n' powerful , gearboxes are crap though well not the box itself exactly but the cable linkage bit like a stick in a bucket of swill!
