Can I use a rear handle saw for cs39 assessment

You certainly can use a rear handled saw , in fact I have not used a top handled saw for about 15 years now and have no probs whatsoever , persist with it for a while and you might not ever bother with a top handled saw ! They are expensive , crap and encourage unsafe practice and you will need a rear handled saw to finish the job and cut up on the ground anyway ! I have used husky 242 's and stihl ms 260 's mostly .

My trainer had rear handle 201s for our assessment. So I cant see anything against it. But best to check with your training provider/ assessor

used one for mine, it really makes you think about your positioning because you can't use it one handed, so it is a good thing... good luck on your course..

Looking like I'm going to have to cancel the course for the time being as employer has now decided to pull out of funding it!!
