thinking of getting a GoPro Camera.

Was watching some tree work videos on youtube of climbers using the Gopro helmet cameras and it made me really want to get one.

the idea of filming and then looking back on it in 10 or 20 years time is great.

what cameras do you guys use or think is the best one?

i know the cheapest one is the Go Pro Hero which is £100 of the GoPro website

and then there is the GoPro hero 3 white which is an extra £50 but the only difference i can see between them 2 is that the Hero has no built in wifi which would be good to have but im not too fussed about that tbh.

I haven't really got a budget i just want one that will do decent video and be able to plugin and upload to computer.

any advice or reconsiderations are appreciated.

I can only comment on the one I have which is the 3+ silver. I'd have another one of those :)

And as for watching 10 year old videos...I have some on youtube that are about that age, but hate watching them because the video quality was so poor back then! 10 years time looking back on todays videos won't be quite so bad though :)

is that the one you use ? Suffolk Matt

I dont use one at all mate. I have seen these and the footage they produce, lots of review on the web about them. My other half was tempted to import a few boxes of them a while back but we never did.

Good review here - SJ4000 GoPro Clone Action Camera Review : Short Barrel Shepherd

for the price they are worth a look for sure

I have the hero h3 black (I think!), to me it's worth the extra as you can control and watch it with an iPod/phone etc, which stops you getting a load of films of the sky/ground, and you can watch it back and delete the rubbish without using you computer.

how the camera attatch to the climbing helmet?

I have a Petzil Alveo helmet and i noticed that there is a little gap at the front the helmet and wondering does this have anything to do with attaching a camera?
