The above ones are really bright, and to be honest are just the ticket, but just wondering if their are any comparable ones out there that are a bit cheaper

The simple answer is no.

 

I fitted a set of PRC specials as a stop gap. Over 12 months they went opaque and the diodes quit one by one.

 

You get what you pay for

i was kinda guessing that.

 

A chap i know ordered a set of four on ebay. A local mechanic friend was fitting them and could not get them to work. Eventually he found out that the supplied wires were so small that they were causing too mush resistance for the lights to work. Upgraded wiring and they worked fine- not very bright thou and they did look pony.

I have tried most and am now using Guardian,like Brittax they are the only few with the Bs mark to comply with UK road/recovery regs and work well in daylight.

Cheap isn't a good idea with led lighting stick to britax, vision alert, guardian,whelen to name a few

I've got a 'noddy car' style amber flashing beacon that's spare if you're want. Yours for the price of the postage.

Seem to remember the best ones were made by Parasourse or similar name they make them for the services so good units but a small one will set you back £200 I think you need 3 rd generation Leds.

If you have a look on eBay someone is currently selling these britax lights for 16 quid each including postage. Me and a mate both ordered a pair on Thursday night, we got them Saturday morning.
