Chainsaw advice

Hello

 

I am starting a BTEC in Arboriculture in September and then going on to tree surgery and would like your advice on which chainsaw would be best for the course and the following work. I'm thinking of opting for Stihl as they're recommended and I am happy with other Stihl tools I have but if you think anything in the Husqvarna range would suit better please let me know.

 

I know there's the specialist MS200T Arborist chainsaw but I am thinking this will hinder me if I need to do anything more heavy duty. I have my eye on the MS341 but would like some professional advice before I make a purchase.

The two brands are both very good. a fifteen inch bar with a .semmi chisel .325 pich chain is your best bet .A saw at high end of the range about 50cc just get the best you can aford try not to go for a bigger cheeper made the pro units are better than the farm/hire ones Access Arboriculture - the tree experts

dont do it. do a course where you can earn better money for less hard work. thats what mj taught me.

you shouldn't need to buy your own saw whilst at college. they will have them. (if that's what you mean?)

i would agree guys , you should not ned to provide your own saw at college and if you are expected to do so then i would find a better college to go to that can provide the equipment, whos to say that you find you dont like tree surgery and that your now left with a load of expensiv kit thats of no use to you , take your time mate

346 xp husqvarna,ms200t is a saw for climbing with ,cant use it on the ground
